HISTORY

Khalq Electric Center was founded on November 19, 1981, with a vision to provide high-quality, affordable electrical goods to customers. Starting as a modest shop on Multan Road, Lahore, we began by crafting wooden wall boxes and plastic switch plates using a manual machine (Chapakka). By virtue of honesty and high sense of responsibility, we quickly earned a trusted reputation in the local market. A struggle lasting nearly a decade led to a high demand that necessitated expansion.

Khalq Electric Company (KEC) was established in 1994, a model showroom for electrical products at Kharak Stop, Lahore. Alongside retail operations, we began supplying wholesalers and developed dealer network, it become a leading hub for electrical goods in Punjab. This milestone also paved the way for importing premium electrical products that met international quality standards; filling a critical gap in the local market.

Khalq Trading Company (KTC) was then launched in 1998 in order to specialize in import of switches & sockets, circuit breakers and lighting products. Our dedicated R&D team conducted extensive visits to manufacturers in Mainland China, ensuring superior design and stringent quality control. KTC built a robust nationwide distribution network, catering to customers who demanded reliability and excellence. The next leap came with local manufacturing under the brand name KLASS.

Klass Electric Company was founded on September 15, 2005 with an innovation of a converting wooden wall boxes into plastic. This ground breaking shift enhanced the product durability, cost effectiveness and above all reduced deforestation. Initially we started producing concealed wall boxes, fan boxes, ceiling boxes, and jointers; all compliant with British, Italian, and Pakistani standards. Conversion to plastic was much appreciated and KLASS rapidly captured a potential market share. By 2015, we expanded our portfolio to include U-PVC pipes and accessories, completing our comprehensive product range.

In 2018, we embarked on our most ambitious initiative yet: localizing KLASS switches and sockets to reduce Pakistan’s reliance on import. The results have been transformative; spurring industrialization, boosting vendor ecosystems, enabling technology transfer, creating jobs, and delivering cost effective, export quality goods. A landmark achievement was the installation of Pakistan’s first ultra-violet automatic paint line in 2019, further enhancing production capabilities.

Today, we provide end-to-end solutions, from mould design and injection moulding to painting and component supply, empowering local manufacturers and traders to join this national movement toward self-reliance. We take immense pride in announcing that over 70% of Pakistan’s electrical switches and sockets market has shifted to locally manufactured products, a testament to our relentless efforts in strengthening Pakistan’s economy, even during challenging times.

At KLASS, we remain committed to innovation, quality and sustainability, driving progress for our industry and nation.
